It was my first time trying to shoot photos with a film camera, and this series of works was my first photography project.

I took this series of photos in downtown Portland and on the Great Lawn at Reed College. The model is one of Reedies and a good friend of mine.

The series of photos is named "Missing Person" because it reflects my mind's state after arriving in Portland in August 2021.

I was curious about everything here as a newcomer at first. Here, in Portland, OR, it is a new culture for me. It would be a unique life experience.

However, after the novelty passed, emptiness came to my mind. I gradually felt confused: I lost my position as an individual here in Reed and Portland. I found that "Me in the past," the individual, seemed to have gradually disappeared.

Now I am only an "international Reedie" and a new Portlander…
